This course will review the current practice of pediatric minimal and moderate sedation beginning with a basis in physiology and pharmacology and progressing through monitoring, drug selection and office protocols. Despite best practice, sedation and medical emergencies can and will happen. Clinical simulation through the use of SimMan proprietary technology and staffed by professional trainers will help the trained pediatric dentist be better prepared to identify and intervene early in an emergent situation.

This 11 hour seminar and 4 hour simulation is geared specifically for the boarded pediatric dentist and limited to 60 participants which allows discussion and individualized learning. In addition, there will be a three hour wrap-up session for continuing education credit on Sunday morning at which time questions, comments, and experiences can be shared by all.

This course is structured to meet many states' requirements for renewal of sedation permits.  Please check with your state board for applicability.

The Crescent Court is the ideal location with comfortable lecture rooms, breakout rooms and superior food and service.

The Course Includes:

1. Guidelines, Laws and Regulations
2. Choosing the Child for Sedation
3. Anatomic and Physiologic Differences of Child v. Adult

6. Documents and Documentation
7. Monitors and Monitoring
8. Sedation Drug Choices/Pros and Cons
