A Message from the President

Dear Colleagues,

As we reflect on the journey of our esteemed organization, it is remarkable to see how far we have come over the past 60 years. From our early days to the present, we have faced numerous challenges and adapted to the ever-evolving landscape of pediatric dentistry. Today, we stand at a crucial point where advancements in technology, the increasing complexity of dental care, and the dynamic healthcare environment present both exciting opportunities and challenges. Together, with our collective knowledge and passion, we will continue to uphold the highest standards of pediatric dental care and address these challenges with resilience and innovation.

This past year has been filled with significant milestones. Our 2024 AGM and Symposium in Toronto was a resounding success, with leading experts sharing their insights and knowledge regarding molar hypomineralization. Additionally, our recent webinar series on Pediatric Medicine was one of a kind in our field, bringing relevance of pediatric medicine into our daily dentistry practice. Looking ahead, we have several exciting events planned. The Spring Study Club is scheduled for April 3-5, 2025, at the Stein Eriksen Lodge in Park City, Utah, where we will delve into advanced topics in pediatric dentistry with Dr. Martha Ann Keels, Dr. Jed Best and Dr. Patricia Medland. Furthermore, the 2025 Annual Meeting & CE Symposium on May 24th at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel. This year’s Dr. Jerome B. Miller Memorial Lecture will feature Dr. Norman Tinanoff who will revisit the hot topic of fluoride therapy at the place where fluoride research first started. This meeting will provide ample networking opportunities designed to enhance our professional growth and foster collaboration within our community.

I am deeply honored and grateful for the opportunity to serve as your president this year. Your trust and support inspire me every day to work diligently on your behalf. Together, we will continue to advance the field of pediatric dentistry and make a lasting impact on the lives of the children we serve. Thank you for your dedication and commitment to our shared mission.

Warm regards,

Cynthia L. Wong, DMD, MS, FRCD(C)
2024-2025 President, College of Diplomates of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry
